3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom holiday home in trendy Surry Hills.

Stay right on the border of Sydney’s two most sought after suburbs, Surry Hills and Redfern and live like a local in an 1890’s workers terrace.

The location doesn’t get much better. Famous for its trendy eateries, cool bars and designer stores, giving it an atmosphere like no other. You can spend a day exploring the area’s many attractions, or take a short bus, train or light rail trip to Sydney’s most popular CBD attractions. It is a must for every Sydney visit.

Once you pass through the two heavy glass sliding doors that protect the home from the hustle and bustle, enter into a comfortable space with character where you will feel immediately at home. Being one of the larger holiday homes available on Airbnb, larger groups and families of up to 7 will be comfortable with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large fully equipped kitchen plus a sun room and outdoor courtyard for outdoor entertaining.

The Neighbourhood

Surry Hills is my favourite area in Sydney. It’s famous for its trendy eateries, cool bars and designer stores, giving it an atmosphere like no other. You can spend a day exploring the area’s many attractions, or take a short bus, train or light rail trip to Sydney’s most popular CBD attractions.

It’s a must for every Sydney visit.

All Sydney trains stop here. Bus: Plenty of buses to Central station (nearest stop 50 metres away), CBD (nearest stop 120 meters away) and the eastern suburbs (nearest stop 50 meters away). Walk: Stroll to the CBD in 40+ mins, enjoying a coffee along the way.

Parking

Important things to note

This holiday home may not be for everyone. If you are after hotel perfect, then this home will not be suitable.

Please review the details below prior to making a booking.

Check in weekdays: Generally its standard check in times. BUT other times can be arranged if there is no other guests on the same day. So please do ask!

Check in weekends: Flexible depending on same day guests arrival/departure.

Interaction with Guests: We are only a phone call away for questions or advice at all times! Once you are settled in we like to give our guests privacy – we don’t “pop in”. Any visits will be pre-arranged with you prior to arrival. The exception to this will be if there is an emergency or we have been advised that someone is breaking the house rules.

Street Noise: While the home is surprisingly quiet for its location, it is on a main road and in a vibrant area so does have some street noise. People wanting a whisper quiet setting should seek a house away from the city centre in outer suburbs. The main bedroom, being at the front of the home, has the most noise, but it has a sunroom with a door that closes to soften the noise considerably.

Rubbish: The rubbish collection service is on Wednesday evening. I kindly ask guests if they are able to wheel the bins though the home to the front street later on Wednesday evening and bring in on Thursday morning (even if its just into the front porch) Red is household food scraps and dirty rubbish and yellow is clean recyclables. Rubbish MUST be bagged before putting in the bin. (bags supplied in the kitchen drawers)

IMPORTANT: Please note that no rubbish is to be put into the red bin unless it is BAGGED SECURELY first (I’ve had unfortunate instances where I’ve had to clean the bin out by hand as someone put all their pasta straight into the bin.. yuk!). Part of the bond may be forfeited if there’s a need to clean out un-bagged rubbish or if there is excess rubbish not put out on the Wednesday night.

INSURANCE: For peace of mind, we have changed from our standard domestic home and contents to a business insurance to ensure our guests are FULLY COVERED. Most private listings haven’t checked their current policies and are possibly not covered.

NOTICE FOR AGED, IMMOBILE AND CHILDREN: There are steep stairs in this house – therefore it may not be suitable for persons with reduced mobility or those with unsupervised children.

While the house is kept clean and tidy, please note the home is not in showroom condition. It is a 200 year old, lived-in home. While I have had the home painted inside and out and have had lovely new carpet installed, there may be a paint chip here and there from previous guests, and some scratches on the lounge. The sheets won’t be ironed either. But be assured, they are freshly laundered, clean and hygienic.

If you are after hotel perfect, this home may not be suitable.

The cleaning fee covers one visit by professional cleaners. If you require a weekly service, I can organise for $90 per visit.

While the home is surprisingly quiet for its location, it’s on a main road and it does have some street noise. People wanting a whisper quiet setting should seek a house away from the city centre or in back streets. The main bedroom at the front of the house has the most noise, but it has a sunroom with a door that closes to soften the noise considerably.

Parking: There is no parking on this property. There is free street parking in the surrounding streets but it is timed during the weekdays. Street parking on the weekend, however, is un-timed and free all weekend.

There is free, untimed, all day parking about 10-15 minute walk from the home if required.
